29 weeks

Today I'm about 29 weeks and 4 days and so far, I'm still feeling good. This baby is getting bigger and bigger and my belly area already feels so big (and tight) that I'm not sure how I'm going to get bigger these next 2.5 months! But I know it's coming.

This baby loves to move around, especially in the evenings after dinner. Her favorite thing to do is stretch out and push her legs against the right side. Usually it just feels like pressure but sometimes it's uncomfortable. My body pillow has really helped and I have virtually no hip pain anymore.

I love being at the point where it's quite obvious that I'm pregnant and not just gaining weight. I'm at the point where there isn't much room to eat too too much all at once, so I'm eating several times throughout the day. Pants are out of the question, other than a few pairs of maternity work pants I bought to wear into the office. I mostly wear empire waist dresses and leggings with long sweaters (as you can see above).

So far I've only had one bout of the third trimester crazies. It was brought on by anxiety I was feeling about hosting Reed's parents for dinner on a day I was already exhausted and didn't have enough time to get the house up to what I thought their standards would be. Very silly, I know. Reed got the house ready while I was gone and did a great job, so it turned out fine.. which I knew it would. I was mostly anxious and panicky about the fact that I couldn't shake the anxious and panicky feeling, even though it wasn't logical - I kept thinking: "What if this is just how I am now?" and it freaked me out. Luckily, it only lasted one day.

Other things to note:

- It warmed up for a few days this week and for two consecutive days we were able to take a long walk around the neighborhood.. one of my favorite things to do. (I'm easily entertained outdoors. Especially around Highland Square where there are always neighbors out to chat with, dogs to greet and lovable Akron weirdos out and about.)

- We tried Jeni's ice cream for the first time with our House Church group.. wow. Totally hooked.

- For Christmas, my dad and stepmom got me sewing lessons and over the weekend, I had my first session! My sewing teacher is going to help me make a bumper for the crib and a pillow for rocking chair. They had gotten me a nice machine for Christmas last year, so it's been nice learning how to use it correctly.

- These past few weeks have been crazy for us. R has been playing with two bands and has stuck with the mentorship program he's been volunteering with for a few years now.. so between his volunteering, practices, shows, our church group and my work events, it feels like we've literally had something on the schedule every night. It's been fun.. but I have to say, I'm looking forward to my Maternity Leave :)

  1. Looking good! Ours likes to push her feet against my left side, with her little bottom sticking straight up on the right! It's awesome and I love it but yes, sometimes it gets almost painful- I hate to complain about it though since it really is so very cool! Glad you're feeling well!

  2. Thanks! I actually found out yesterday at our Doctor's appointment that she is actually kicking both sides, but I only feel it on my right side because the placenta is mostly on the left - crazy!

  3. You look fantastic! My babies are both kicking a lot now and moving around, and it's occasionally painful — but I can only imagine how it feels when they get bigger. You're getting so close to meeting her! :)
