You know from previous posts that we love Chicago. This was our 4th trip since last fall! My brother lives there and I'm so glad he does. It's such a great place.
Before we left, we found out our dog, Harvey, had to stay behind. He was experiencing partial paralysis in his back legs and had to stay at his Vet's office in case he needed emergency surgery. It was horrible! He did end up needing surgery a few days after we left. The surgery was last Monday and he was able to come home last Wednesday. He's doing great!
While in the city a few weeks ago we made sure to shop (the middle picture below is from Anthropologie, and so it the yellow belt I'm wearing in the top middle picture!), visit the Bean ,thrifing and as usual, eat cupcakes and other delicous food.
This trip was extra special because my whole family went, including my sister and brother-in-law from Breckenridge we don't get to see very often. It was nice to have my sister and step-mom as fun shopping buddies. They even accomodated my thrifting
We left early enough on Tuesday afternoon that we could visit Harvey in the hospital that night. We weren't able to take him home until the next day but we were happy to get to visit! A few days later, we brought his Vet's office a box of chocolate covered strawberries for taking such good care of him. They definitely didn't have to keep him for us. It made us feel so much better to know he was in good hands.
To say this month has been busy would be an understatement.
I've taken on more hours at my "side job" while I'm simultaneously training my replacements at my other job. I can't wait to be able to focus on one job!
To top it all off, we had <great> trips scheduled this month. Our Chicago trip a few weeks ago and now we are on our way to Georgia and Hilton Head as you read this!
I'm excited to visit my grandparents in Atlanta and also do some relaxing in Hilton Head with R's family. I know I'll be making some time for thrifting too. Last year I wrote about my experience at the Bargain Box . I can't wait to see if there are any treasures in store there this year.
I hope you have a great weekend and I hope to be in better touch with many of you (and your lovely blogs) soon!
