One of my favorite things about moving is all the potential in a blank canvas as far as decorating goes. This house is all white, which at first I didn't like. After we moved in, I realized the white is what helps is feel open and airy, and it gives us the opportunity to decorate with a lot of color. We're also not limited in terms of what "goes well" with the paint colors <side note: we can maybe paint if we paint it back to white when we leave, but what a pain!>.
I love looking online and through catalogs for room inspirations. It's so much fun to come up with a color palette and then find the perfect accessories for each room. I like to look at expensive things online and then hit up my local Goodwill, Tuesday Morning, Homegoods, Target, etc. for affordable pieces.
I'll probably be sharing my room inspirations with you along the way. The above color palette I love for a small, light space. I have a whole loft office all to myself (so lucky).. there are two distinct nooks : one for the office / sewing table and one I'd like to use as a place to relax, read, etc. Since it's mostly a space for me, I can use girly colors and florals like the ones shown above. We'll see how it develops!
We went to the Black Keys concert in Cleveland last night and it was awesome as to be expected. We were disappointed with the location (it was at the Quicken Loans arena.. lame). I wish they would have done two smaller shows at local venues instead of one huge show at an enormous arena, but it was still great to see them live.
I hope you've had a great week so far!
