Before & After: Striped Shirt Refashion

I don't know if you can tell much of a difference without a close-up picture of how this top turned out, but I took it in all the way up the side and sleeves. It was a large but only $1 (thrifted) and who doesn't love a good, simple striped top? The only problem was that it was a size L and didn't fit how I wanted it to.. until now. Quick & easy refashion.

My favorite kind.

So yesterday I posted on the 330 Blogger Collective about a sale going on at a local consignment last night..

You guys.
..I went a little crazy!

I usually leave with one or two choice items.. but woah Gerri was loaded with gems last night! Apparently someone just my size and style recently dropped off a lot of their clothes because I left with two bags full. I never do that. I can't wait to show you what I got.. here's a few things off the top of my head:

Victoria's Secret Black Skinnies : $3
H&M striped dress: $8.60 (had original tags - $24.95)
Forever 21 tunic sweater - $7
Forever 21 boyfriend cardigan -$6

& perhaps the item I'm most excited about - a wool, belted coat from the Limited that fits perfectly - $25

I can't wait to show you a post with pictures.

Happy Friday!

  2. Wow, great idea! You're right, a striped top is one of those things you can always use. It's also great when you find a bunch of things in your size. On those days, I'm smiling from ear to ear :)Thanks for visiting, by the way.

  6. Ahhh so you know when you find something at a thrift store that you love, but leave because there are other things you want to purchase at the time and you run out of money and actually have to borrow money from a friend to even afford the things you picked out? THAT happened to me with a shirt just like that, only in coral, that fit perfectly. And your shirt makes me totally regret that! It looks super cute. No worries, I will just be on the lookout for another one : )
