Animal Print at a Funeral?

R's grandfather passed away last week and yesterday was the funeral. I felt uncomfortable wearing all black so threw in some leopard/cheetah print accents. I guess I was feeling inspired by wear*it Wednesday..

Dress: Target, Shoes: Steve Madden, Pin: Kohl's

Once I was out the door I wondered if animal print to a funeral was appropriate.

Once I got there I realized, if it was.. I wasn't alone. Another <much older> woman was wearing a zebra print cardigan. After the service she came over and complimented my shoes, she had noticed them across the room. I had noticed her zebra print from across the room and we agreed we must be kindred spirits.

Today we are off to a semi-impromptu trip to Chicago to see my little brother! This has been the craziest week.. so I can't wait to unwind with the husband.

Pictures promised.. have a lovely rest of your weekend :)

  1. I think it looks nice together and really it is about just showing support to family, so I think you were dressed very, very beautifully!

  4. I always feel awkward wearing all black to funerals. I always try a little subtle color or print. Funerals shouldn't be so dark.
