Clips from the weekend: Birthday Parties, 'White Lady' Martinis and New Floors

This has been one of those weekends we need another day to utilize as a real Sunday.. one with actual rest and relaxation. With the move coming up next weekend, however.. I don't think it's in the cards for us! It was great though - a lot of fun and a lot of progress on the new place!

Saturday was a 3-in-1 Birthday Party for some lovely family members.. which, as usual and as expected, was quite entertaining. The dad-in-law is an excellent bartender.. and he whipped me up a 'White Lady' martini which I highly recommend.

The White Lady: 2 parts Cointreau, 2 parts lemon juice and 2 parts gin (or vodka works too).. all shaken with ice and served in a martini glass - lovely.

We brought Harvie and he loved all the attention..

And of course.. there was cake.

Today was a whirlwind of paint, floors, more paint and ice cream. Renee and Tyler came over to help out which was seriously awesome. Seriously, seriously. :) Aren't the guys cute working on the floors together?

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

  1. Aw, good family time. My dad-in-law is also an excellent bartender. He introduced me to the "chocolate cake" shot...and make a mean bloody mary!

  2. Yum, yum, yummy cake. Martini sounds beautiful too

  3. Oooh. Definitely going to try the white lady drink with my girls for our girls night out before the wedding on Thursday! Glad you had a great weekend!

  4. I want to reach through the screen and grab me some of that cake!
