Anyway, I've been wanting to try to make sushi for awhile. I finally got the confidence to woman up to the feat after seeing this featured on one of my favorite health nut blogs :) good stuff, friends. It really is pretty simple, even for a first timer like myself.
The ingredients: slices of cucumber, carrot and avocado, rice (I like brown rice) and nori paper (and sesame seeds if you have them, mine are M.I.A at the moment).
Got the ingredients all prepped, ready to bust out the handy new bamboo roller and nori paper! Got everything laid out, time to start rolling:
Hmm. Well that doesn't look quite right does it? My first one turned out more like an over-stuffed sushi burrito. Still tasted good, but I wanted a pretty one too.
Let's try that again..
Much better the second time around. The trick is not over-stuffing and rolling it really tight. Had the Mr. help cut them into rolls:
Couldn't quite get a clear picture, but the second try turned out pretty darn good!
I think this has officially become a staple in this household. Yep. Officially, officially.
